Manson Launches Employee Health and Wellness Program During Construction Inclusion Week 2024

Manson Construction Co. launched its new Employee Health and Wellness (EHW) Program during Construction Inclusion Week (CIW) 2024. The program aims to connect employees to resources that promote the four pillars of wellness: physical, mental, social, and financial.

Aligned with CIW’s 2024 theme of creating welcoming environments, the EHW is geared toward building and maintaining a healthier and supportive community at Manson by providing access to resources and creating opportunities for engagement and community involvement.

Throughout the year, the EHW will focus on regularly providing information related to physical, mental, social, and financial wellness. The program will leverage a variety of interactive measures, including webinars and discussions, third-party speakers, blogs, and community activities covering a wide range of topics. Employees will have numerous resources at their fingertips, which could prove helpful during major life events and to maintain overall health and wellness.

“We know that Manson’s operations and equipment do not run itself,” says Senior Vice President and Gulf and East Coast Regional Manager John Roques. “This is an opportunity to demonstrate that we care about our employees, which means providing the best resources for them.”

Employees are encouraged to participate in EHW activities and provide feedback to help shape the program to benefit us all.

In tandem with the EHW, Manson reintroduced its new Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Canopy – one of the many resources the EHW will rely on – which offers additional helpful tools to boost self-care for employees in professional and personal spaces.

Canopy is 100% confidential – no information is shared back to Manson, so employees are guaranteed anonymity with any activity. Canopy is all-inclusive and offers professional services for counseling and coaching, financial and legal resources, and many other educational tools related to health and well-being.

“Manson chose Canopy as its new EAP because of its experience focusing on the needs of the construction industry,” says Human Resources Operations Manager Danika Grace Brown. “The program offers a full-service approach to sensitive topics, and professional consultation is readily available 24/7/365 for employees, not just during a crisis.”

With Canopy, users have access to various resources and have the option to customize a plan to attend courses and get referrals to help with areas such as work-life balance, physical fitness, and counseling. In addition, employees’ eligible family members may utilize the same services.

During this week's program launch, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Jim McNally encouraged employees to contribute to Manson’s efforts to create and maintain a supportive work environment.

“I want to see us all looking out for one another, whether that’s from a job site safety perspective or simply being a kind and supportive co-worker or supervisor,” Jim says. “Manson started as a family business, and now we have evolved into an ESOP, and as we continue to grow, there are some key elements of that family feel that we are trying very hard to maintain.”
