Lake Washington Ship Canal Project Wins AGC of WA Grand Award
Manson’s LWSC Large Lock Center Miter Gate Replacement project took home multiple awards at the AGC of WA’s Build Washington Awards in Bellevue, WA.
The project, built for USACE Seattle, received top honors for Construction Excellence in the Heavy/Industrial $5-20 Million category in addition to being chosen for the 2026 Grand Award.

The LWSC project involved the replacement of the century-old large lock center gate at the Ballard Locks in Seattle, WA. The project is crucial to U.S. commerce and maritime traffic, with the Ballard Locks providing passage for more than 50,000 vessels a year and maintaining water levels for both Lake Washington and Lake Union.
The AGC of WA’s Build Washington Awards celebrates the most outstanding projects, programs, and leaders in the construction industry, with 30 categories recognizing significant achievements in innovation, sustainability, and community impact.
