Wharves 3 & 4 Fender Replacement

PROJECT FEATURES

    • Nine 66 in. diameter steel monopile breasting dolphins installed at Wharf 3.
    • Repaired six concrete breasting dolphins and three intermediate pile caps at Wharf 4.
    • Demolition and new installation of 12 fenders at Wharf 4 – two at each concrete dolphin.
    • Demolition and new installation of steel monopile walkways at dolphins five and six.

PROJECT PURPOSE

The Wharves 3 & 4 project replaced the aging fender system for both wharves at the Port of Redwood City for safer berthing. Manson furnished and installed new fenders and dolphins to help the wharf absorb impacts from vessels.
