PROJECT PURPOSE

The purpose of this project was to restore the eastern shoreline of Cat Island to its condition pre-Hurricane Katrina. Cat Island serves as a barrier island that protects the Mississippi’s coastal cities from damaging wave action. This project was the maiden voyage for Manson’s 30-inch cutter suction dredge, ROBERT M WHITE.
