Built in 1930, the original Manette bridge was deemed structurally deficient in the 2000s and inadequate to accommodate increasingly busy traffic from the community of Manette to downtown Bremerton. The Manson-led joint venture team constructed the new 1,550 ft. long pre-stressed, post-tensioned concrete girder bridge just south of the old steel truss bridge and improved travel by adding shoulders and widening the pedestrian walkway.
