PROJECT FEATURES
- • Hydraulic and clamshell dredging
• Over 6.5 million cubic yards dredged
• Over 5 million cubic yards of the dredged material was deposited for beneficial reuse at the Hamilton Army Airfield Wetlands Restoration Project (HWRP) which included 547 acres of planned habitats
• Material was pumped up to seven miles to the HWRP site using a series of pumps

PROJECT PURPOSE
This project deepened the federal channels of the Oakland Harbor and Port-maintained berths from -42 ft. to depths of -50 ft. Dredge spoils were used to create environmental enhancement and wetland habitats.
