  • West Leg Training Wall consisted of 504 contiguously placed Concrete Structural Units (CSUs), approximately 4,000’ long, which acted as a wave attenuation structure and barrier for the wetlands
  • CSUs were an innovative alternative by Manson and our design partner as an alternative to the original specified design

Project Purpose

This design-build coastal reconfiguration and dredging project for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers involved building training walls to control the flow of the St. Johns River where it intersects with the Intercoastal Waterway (IWW) near the Atlantic Coast. The training walls help minimize crosscurrents and aid in vessel navigation.
