Location: Oakland, CA

Contract Amount: $20,605,755

Project Duration: July 2004 - September 2005

Project Description:

This project, performed as a joint venture, involved the reconstruction of approximately 1,500 linear feet of wharf face. Manson demolished 5’ of existing wharf face and built 14’ of new wharf along the entire waterside edge of the existing Berths 32 and 33, including the installation of an additional row of 24” octagonal concrete piles. A submerged sheet pile bulkhead was installed along the entire face of the wharf and at the toe of the embankment to allow the berth to be dredged to a depth of -55 MLLW without compromising the wharf’s structural integrity. Also involved was the construction of the new Berth 30 extension which consisted of approximately 240 linear feet of new concrete wharf with 24” concrete octagonal piles.
