This project involved the construction of one the largest container facilities in the Los Angeles area and the first wharf at the Port of Long Beach to have shore-to-ship electrical capabilities. The new 123’ wide by 1,342’ long container wharf is supported by nearly 1000 prestressed vertical concrete piles up to 110’ in length. In addition to the emission-reducing electrical system with shore-to-ship capabilities—including substations, lighting, wharf power, distribution and shore power outlets—the reinforced cast-in-place concrete wharf includes elastomeric fenders, bollards, utility outlets, safety ladders, 100’ gauge crane rail, crane power trench, and conductor
