Manette Bridge Replacement
Owner: Washington State Department of Transportation
Contract Amount: $44,127,374
Joint Venture: Manson-Mowat JV
Location: Bremerton, WA
Project Duration: 08/2010-02/2012
The purpose of this joint venture project was to replace the structurally deficient 80-year-old Manette Bridge with a new bridge designed to current engineering standards. The new bridge will improve travel across the Port Washington Narrows by adding shoulders, widening the pedestrian walkway, and constructing a new roundabout.
The new bridge was constructed just south of the old steel truss bridge using pre-cast concrete elements and included arched bridge deck girders. Work also included construction of the bridge shafts, piers, abutments and superstructure, and the reconstruction of the west end intersection.
